Implementing a Smart Growth and Open Space Agenda for Whitemarsh Township
In May 2001, the WTRA made a presentation to the Whitemarsh Board of Supervisors in which it expressed its interest in partnering with public officials to shape a new framework for managing growth and preserving open space in the township.
To that end, the WTRA prepared a Policy Brief, which lays out a series of recommendations for implementing a more proactive, conservation-oriented land use vision for the Township. It also prepared an
Analysis of the Township's draft Comprehensive
Plan, summarizing what it sees as deficiencies and weaknesses in the current document.
These recommendations were presented to the Planning Commission and members of the Board of Supervisors in August 2001. (See
summary of that meeting.)
