Please join us this Saturday and if necessary, Sunday to help restore a portion of Wissahickon Creek and improve the habitat and water quality for local fish and wildlife. The activity will involve planting approximately 700 trees and shrubs along the Erdenheim Farm section of Wissahickon Creek. Fencing has already been installed to keep livestock out of this protected area.

This restoration project is being funded by a Growing Greener grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and sponsored by The Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association, The Whitemarsh Township Residents Association, and the Natural Lands Trust. The Watershed Association will supply drinks and sandwiches. Please bring your own shovels and gloves.

Parking

Please park along the entrance drive to the Hill at Whitemarsh (formerly Eugenia Hospital) on Thomas Road off Flourtown Road. Walk around the farm's perimeter and enter the farm at the gate located on Flourtown Road across from the sheep barn. Please close gate securely! Once inside the fence, continue along the perimeter until you arrive at the work site. We will be working in the area where Stenton Avenue crosses the creek.

If you plan on participating or have questions, contact Steve Brown, Whitemarsh Township Supervisor, at stevenbrown@rohmhaas.com or (215) 619-5323. Please include your home phone number and email address so that you can be contacted if necessary.
